In 2007, the Association co-hosted the Sino-Japanese International Symposium on Regional Science. This event was expanded in 2010 to become the annual Asian International Symposium on Regional Science. Eight sessions were successfully held in Beijing (China), Kitakyushu (Japan), Hualien and Taipei (China Taiwan), Seoul (South Korea), Harbin (China), and Sendai (Japan).
